Video Art
An Article titled, Video Art, by Michael Rush, discusses briefly video art as an artform. Originally, it was a spin off from the Cinema, because of it's in-expensive qualities and production.
It has become widespread reaching many crevices of the world's major countries, inviting people to become mesmorized by the facinating qualities of slow motion, repeat, speed up, and then a combination of clips from many sources to be used to create a unified piece.
In the late 1970's the availability of movie production technology became more mainstream, which also became important to the increasing popularity with visual artists.
Video Art also becomes a platform for expression. Artists explore themes such as time, the human condition, and everyday life in an autobiographical sense or in the most mundane ways.
Time has been a key component to video art. Because with the technology at hand, time can be manipulated and controlled.
Lastly, video artists are exploring ways to make the images more interesting, expressing different themes, while experimenting with bigger ideas.
